Day 1, Meet and Greet at Shannon Airport

You will arrive at Shannon Airport and our experienced private driver/guide will meet and greet you, and check everything is in order before departure to Killarney in one of our deluxe vehicles. Within a couple of hours, you will be in Killarney and have checked-in at The Malton Hotel. It is time to wind down, relax and prepare for the week ahead.

The Malton is centrally located in the beautiful town of Killarney, which has a bustling nightlife and fine dining. The hotel was a former railway hotel and has been extensively modernised and upgraded to satisfy the most discerning tastes. The very cosy bar is an ideal place where you can easily relax after your day golfing or sightseeing.

Day 2, Tralee

For your first golfing day, your driver will meet you and take you the one-hour drive to play at Tralee Golf Club. Designed and built by Arnold Palmer, every hole is within site of the Atlantic, but the course is challenging and Palmer himself said it was his first and arguably be his finest golf course in Europe. Will you agree? By the end of the week, you will have another four courses to compare it with.

Day 3, Waterville

Today, your driver/guide will take you to Waterville where golf has been played since the 1880s. Over the decades this links course has been honed to perfection and played by many championship golfers. Eddie Hackett's masterpiece designed in the 1970s, and was further updated by Tom Fazio, has created a course that is now listed in the top 100 in the world. The much-loved Payne Stewart was captain here and a life size bronze statue pays tribute to his year and the special relationship he had with the people of Waterville.

Day 4, Ballybunion or Tour

Today, your driver /guide will take you to play at the famous Ballybunion's Casheen course. It's the course where golf legend Tom Watson said: "Ballybunion is the course on which many golf architects should live and play on before they build golf courses". When you are there, you will see exactly what he meant. Opened in 1982, Robert Trent Jones Snr. designed this challenging course. About the Casheen Course, the club writes: "It requires acute precision especially off the tee as fairways frequently disappear around corners. The careless can easily run out of fairway and find their golf ball buried in marram. It's a wonderful challenge from start to finish". Need we say more!

Alternatively, you may take a well-earned break from golf and take a day tour to the beautiful fishing town of Dingle and onto the spectacular drive to Slea Head - one of Ireland's most beautiful coastal routes. You'll also see where Ryan's Daughter, starring Robert Mitchum, Trevor Howard and Sarah Miles was filmed, and see the beach at Ventry where Far and Away, starring Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman was filmed. It's a difficult choice to make - more ‘championship' golf, or a tour round Slea Head with its stunning coastal landscapes.

Either way, your driver/guide will return you to The Malton Hotel.

Day 5, Optional Tour

Today is a rest day from your golfing and we present this as an optional extra day to your tour if required. Our strong recommendation is you absorb some of the sights of the west coast of County Kerry and take the famous Ring of Kerry tour, the Dingle/Slea Head tour (as described above), or the Gap of Dunloe and the Killarney highlight tour. This latter tour is shorter than the others and gives you the opportunity to take a sail along the Lower, Middle and Upper Lakes in Killarney and return by jaunting car. If however you would like another round of golf, we can certainly find you another great course.

Day 6, Kinsale

An earlier start today so your driver/guide will ensure the two-hour drive brings you in time to play at the Old Head Golf Club, Kinsale. Jutting out two miles into the Atlantic Ocean, this is another world-class golf course with stunning coastal views. Being so exposed, and with the ever-changing sea breezes, the course provides a sobering test for golfers of all skill levels. Will you pass the test?

Day 7, Killarney

It's time to play the ‘local' course in Killarney. You will play on the flagship Killeen course at the Killarney Golf and Fishing Club. And if that name sparks a memory in you, then you'll know that it was the Killeen course where the 2010 Irish Open was played. Can you imagine playing on the very same course as some of the world-class golfers like Nick Faldo? Well, imagine no more... today, it becomes your reality. With such a notable and challenging course containing glorious lake views, this is one very special golfing venue you will create new memories and a fitting conclusion to your Ireland golfing experience.

Day 8, Homeward Bound

All too soon, our time together has quickly come to an end and it's here we say ‘slan abhile' (safe home). Your driver/guide will transfer you from The Malton to Shannon Airport and we hope you will take away many fond memories, excellent score cards and photographs of your golfing vacation and share them with your family and friends. We look forward to welcoming you again on another golfing tour soon.

Summary of Example Tour

Your golfing tour will be 8 days (7nights) long. You will be met at Shannon Airport by your private driver/guide who will take care of your every need.

You will play golf on five top golf courses as indicated and have a least one-day sightseeing, if the option is requested. You will travel in one of our luxury tour vehicles, and all taxes, insurances, golf fees, fuel and driver expenses are included. At the end of your golfing tour, we will safely return you to Shannon Airport well in time to check-in and prepare for your journey home.
